Summary
Joined the Declaration to Triple Nuclear Energy by 2050 at COP30 (2025) as its 33rd signatory. Under Vision Senegal 2050 the country plans a national nuclear deployment strategy (to be finalised early 2026), SMR preparations, and a research reactor feasibility study beginning late 2026. A nuclear department was created within the Energy Transition Directorate. Nuclear explored since 2012. No reactor procurement decision.
